FUNDRAISING FOR THE POPPY APPEAL THE OTTER WAY
With some very enthusiastic support from our drinkers we have raised well
over £2,500 for The Royal British Legion as part of our ongoing annual support
for the Poppy Appeal.
The total was reached through wet
sales of Poppy Otter - a specially created winter beer sold in West Country
pubs throughout November and December. Punch Taverns who were among those
selling the beer made an additional contribution.
Across bars in Devon, Dorset and Somerset, every time a pint of Poppy Otter was
poured we pledged to donate 5p straight to charity.
The cheque for £2,639.20
was presented this week to The Royal British Legion's Dartmoor Chairman Anthony Howard who was accompanied by his wife to the
brewery and also Sargent Mike Amor from the Army Careers Office.
So a big thank you once again to all our drinkers who
did their bit during our silver anniversary year in helping the Poppy Appeal continue
the great work they do. We've now proudly supported this charity for the last
seven years and share a very close personal affinity with the values they hold
dear. A special mention should be given to Punch Taverns and their generosity
with an additional contribution to the final amount.
