Our new craft lager has won its first national accolade as the UK's lager revolution continues to gain momentum.

Tarka recently won bronze in the ‘Premium Lagers and Pilsners' class at BeerX 2016 - an annual trade event organised by the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA).

It is available in kegs to pubs and bars across the West Country and also to other parts of the on-trade including Universities and sports clubs. Current stockists in Exeter include The Well House Tavern, The Prospect Inn and The Cross Bar.

By combining the best European brewing traditions with our own 25 years of expertise we've not only helped to diversify the business but also shown that despite our recent milestone we intend to stay at the forefront of responding to what drinkers want. It's exciting because Tarka has real provenance and a story rooted in the landscape around where it is made."

"The spring water that we already tap from the head springs of the River Otter is perfect for a lager and conforms precisely with the Rheinheitsgebot or ‘German Purity Law'. This means that Tarka is actually purer than a cask ale. Right now with the interest in the American style of craft beers reaching the UK market, we are pleased that we can produce a premium and local alternative to the well-established larger European brands. This is good news for drinkers and also helps landlords to strengthen their own offering as they continue to compete with the supermarkets."

Tarka Lager will once again be available to try on the bar at the Exeter Food & Drink Festival later this month and on all bars at the Devon County Show in May.
